As the presenting sponsor of the 26th Annual Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic, CapEd invites area elementary kids to stay sharp all summer by participating in Read to Rise.

Read to Rise is a summer reading incentive program for elementary school children in Southern Idaho (Regions 3 & 4). This program encourages students to continue building their reading comprehension skills by rising to the challenge of reading throughout the summer.

The top 5 schools with the most minutes read will receive a CapEd Hot Air Balloon inflate demonstration and an assembly on balloon aviation at their school in September, 2017!

How do you win the CapEd Hot Air Balloon visit to your school? The top five elementary schools with the most read minutes will be notified on August 29, 2017. Winners will be announced the evening of the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic’s Nite Glow on Friday, September 1, 2017.

The contest runs from June 1 – August 25, 2017. Students will keep track of minutes read on a tracking sheet (download below) and parents will sign off each time they read. Students who read with their siblings can add those minutes towards their total minutes read. Tracking sheets have also been emailed to teachers along with a summary tracking sheet for each school. Students will turn in the tracking sheet to their teacher on August 25, 2017.
