To open a Business Account the business must be registered with the State of Idaho. Required Documentation to Open a Business Account –

Sole Proprietorship

Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for the owner(s), and for each signer on the account
  • A copy of the recorded Certificate of Assumed Business Name/DBA form

If Applicable:

  • A copy of the business license
  • A valid TIN/EIN for the entity

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each member or manager, and for each signer on the account
  • A copy of the recorded Certificate of Assumed Business Name/DBA form.
If Applicable:
  • A copy of the Operating Agreement
  • A copy of the Articles of Organization
  • A copy of a resolution adopted by the governing body of the LLC that identifies the person or persons authorized to open accounts, as well as the person or persons authorized to transact business on those accounts
  • A valid EIN for the LLC

Professional Limited Liability Company (PLLC)

Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each member or manager, and for each signer on the account
  • A valid EIN for the LLC
  • A copy of the recorded Certificate of Assumed Business Name/DBA form
If Applicable:
  • A copy of the Operating Agreement
  • A copy of the Articles of Organization
  • A copy of a resolution adopted by the governing body of the LLC that identifies the person or persons authorized to open accounts, as well as the person or persons authorized to transact business on those accounts

Partnership

Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each of the partners, and for each signer on the account
  • A valid EIN for the entity
  • A copy of the recorded Certificate of Assumed Business Name/DBA form
If Applicable:
  • A signed copy of the Partnership Agreement (for a general partnership), the Certificate of Limited Partnership (for a limited partnership), or LLP Agreement (for a limited liability partnership) identifying the partners and their authority

Corporation

Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each principle, and for each signer on the account
  • A valid EIN for the corporation
  • A recorded copy of the Articles of Incorporation
  • A copy of the corporate minutes identifying the corporate officers
  • A copy of the recorded Certificate of Assumed Business Name/DBA form
  • A copy of a corporate resolution adopted by the governing body of the corporation that identifies the person or persons authorized to open accounts, as well as, the person or persons authorized to transact business on those accounts

Joint Venture

Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each partner, and for each signer on the account
  • A copy of the Joint Venture Agreement identifying the partners and their authority
  • A valid EIN for the entity

Schools, Associations, and Organizations

Schools

Required:
  • The District where the school resides must provide a letter on District letterhead stating the school has the authority to open an account. The letter must also provide the taxpayer identification number to be used and must be signed by an authorized district employee.
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each signer on the account

Unincorporated Association

(For example, Knights of Columbus, Girl Scouts, or Rotary Clubs)
Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each signer on the account
  • A copy of a resolution adopted by the governing body of the organization that identifies the person or persons authorized to open accounts, as well as the person or persons authorized to transact business on those accounts

Informal Organization or Club

(For example, a bowling league or ski club or school organization)
Required:
  • A valid, unexpired, government-issued identification with a photo for each signer on the account
  • A letter on the organization’s letterhead (if available) explaining the purpose of the club, a TIN application or an organization DBA
