It’s tax time again. This year, file for a faster return with direct deposit. However, there is one snag to watch out for.

Avoid getting a returned direct deposit notice from your tax refund.

Electronic refunds should be submitted without the leading zeros in front of the member number, and exclude any hyphens or the three-digit suffix of your account number.  If you want your refund deposited to your checking make sure the account number is the same account number on the bottom of your checks.  If you want it deposited to your savings then you will use your member number that ends with a zero.

If you’re not sure what you should put down as your account number, please speak with a member services representative at 884-0150.

Examples:

Correct: 1234560
Incorrect: 01234560
Incorrect: 1234560-190
