For 33 years CapEd’s Thunderbolt branch has been the busiest of all of our branches. It served as our main office for 23 years.  As many of you may have realized, it was in need of upgrades and repairs.  For the past several months the Thunderbolt branch has been undergoing major renovations, but hopefully the inconvenience was well worth it, as the building looks beautiful inside and out.  Throughout the process we were able to keep the branch open, except for one afternoon and one Saturday, in order to move all of the equipment to the new Retail end of the branch. The east side of the building received a completely new roof, down to the trusses. Clerestory windows were installed to add more natural lighting and the entire Retail interior was completely remodeled.

The newly remodeled Thunderbolt location is better equipped to serve all of our members, as there will be additional office space added to the west side of the building.  This will create extra space for more employees including a fully staffed Call Center and room for additional CapEd administrative staff.  The drive-up stations will be increased to four stations rather than the previous two.  The drive-up will also include a new ATM, which will also be capable of accepting check deposits.  At CapEd, we are always looking for ways to improve the quality of service we provide to our members and this is a big step forward.

We are pleased to announce that the newly remodeled east side of the building was “re-opened” on Monday, December 12.  If you haven’t had a chance to stop in to see the Thunderbolt branch recently, we invite you to come see the remodeled branch of your credit union, CapEd.
